Rapid-Cooling Conductor

ROG engineers have discovered the ultimate passive cooling solution. Our 360° SoC Cooling System Gen 2 — places a Rapid-Cooling Conductor precisely between the SoC and the metal near the back cover, so the heat is dissipated evenly from all the thermal layers. And when the AeroActive Cooler X is attached, the Rapid-Cooling Conductor ‘s location exactly matches the place where the thermoelectric cooling chip touches the phone, so the chipset is directly and efficiently cooled.

50 MP IMX890 Main camera

The main camera delivers crystal clear images with the latest 50 MP IMX890 Sony image sensor. The 24 mm8 wide lens allows perfect street snaps.
The lossless 2x zoom mode also turns it into the equivalent of a 50 mm8 prime lens, making it perfect for portrait and food photography.

6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0

The main camera has an incredible 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0 for even smoother videos and shake-free photos on the move with ±3 degrees movement correction. Both standard and portrait shooting modes are now supported by this advanced stabilization, making it perfect for low-light photography.
The ROG Phone 8 also takes video stability to the next level. Its hardware anti-shake OIS and upgraded EIS software algorithm — which uses the gyro to detect movement — allow dynamic adjustment of the field of view to always keep your video rock-steady.

3x Telephoto camera with Optical IS

For the first time ever, the ROG Phone 8 features a 32 MP9 telephoto camera that unlocks the ability to capture distant objects. This 3x telephoto camera has built-in Optical Image Stabilization to ensure crisp and sharp results, and it supports Night Photography mode for amazing low-light shots.
The ROG Phone 8 also uses HyperClarity technology using unprocessed (RAW) files to preserve every detail, giving you clearer images even when you zoom in close at 10x and up to 30x zoom.

0.7x 13 MP Ultrawide camera

The 13 MP ultrawide camera on the ROG Phone 8 is perfect for shooting amazing landscape photos, or portraits in narrow space.
It uses a freeform surface modeling optical design and the latest algorithms to reduce lens distortion and produce stunning yet natural images.

32 MP RGBW Ultrawide selfies

The front camera has an ultrawide 90° FoV that’s perfect for group selfies. You can choose between a 1x standard field of view or a 0.7x ultra-wide angle for different purposes.
Not only that, but with the additional white pixels on its 32 MP RGBW sensor to capture more light, images are clean with less noise even in low light.

The ROG Phone 8 is equipped with a brand-new 6.78” E6 AMOLED (flexible) panel that supports adaptive refresh rates to reduce power consumption. You can also select a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz for smooth gaming, and the touch sampling rate reaches an impressive 720 Hz for instant response.
Peak brightness is now boosted to 2500 nits, allowing you to game or watch movies even in direct sunlight with no problems. Additionally, it boasts a Delta-E < 1 color accuracy for superb visuals.
By reducing the bezels, the ROG Phone 8 achieves a 94% display-to-body ratio. The panel is protected by Gorilla® Glass Victus™2 for enhanced durability.

Adaptive refresh rates

Benefiting from LTPO technology, adaptive refresh rate can significantly reduce power consumption. When the refresh rate setting is set to Auto, the display can automatically adjust between 1 to 120 Hz, depending on the current task.
For example, it can boost up to 120 Hz while gaming, and it automatically drops down to 30 Hz when you watch movies. It can even reduce to under 10 Hz when you are simply scrolling through still photos to save battery power.
